Our guiding principles serve as a compass both individually and organisationally. They are the application of our core beliefs that help shape and direct our work. We approach all we do and every decision we make with the Guiding Principles in mind.

We are led by the needs of the child, focusing our work around what is best for the child’s long-term needs. We assist the families in providing what is needed for the child to thrive.

We identify the needs of the family as a whole and work with them to provide what is required to strengthen and support the family to provide a safe, healthy and nurturing environment. We provide this service without judgement and with respectful ethics and best practice.

Our empowerment based approach is about increasing the strength of an individual, group or community. We aim for this by providing access to education, support for self-improvement, and connecting each other through a common purpose of reducing abuse, supporting the abused and breaking the cycle.

We strive to build our knowledge of cultural differences within and between our communities, cultures, social groups and organisations. We commit to learning more about those differences, enabling us to support those communities better.
